Balito Deep is a circular volcanic reef dived by boat off Gran Canaria, made up of low lying lava formations, with a maximum depth of 24 metres. Divers circle the reef slowly and zigzag across the top, looking into the crevices.
Big schools of yellow snappers and barracudas are often found here, and big stingrays are quite common. This is a beginner dive, and divers have also reported angel sharks, grunts, moray eels, octopus, crabs and a sea turtle on the reef.
