Bartolomé is a relatively small island in the Galápagos, situated to the north of Santa Cruz Island and east of Santiago Island, known for its famous Bartholomew pinnacle rising from a volcanic landscape. The dive begins in a shallow entry area before moving across a series of rocky platforms surrounded by a sandy bottom, with depths reaching 18–20 metres.
Currents at the site are typically weak to moderate, though conditions can occasionally be more challenging. The combination of a sheltered shallow entry and generally manageable current makes the site well suited to both novice and experienced divers, with an Open Water certification being sufficient.
Marine life here is varied and reliable: sea lions, turtles, whitetip reef sharks, barracudas, stingrays, reef fishes, and a range of invertebrates are commonly encountered. Large mantas, squadrons of mobula rays, and hunting sea lions appear on occasion. During surface intervals it is not unusual to spot penguins close to the Bartolomé pinnacle.
