Carall Bernat is one of the largest rocks of the Illes Medes, located on the south-east side of the Medes Islands. The site is accessible to divers of all levels, including beginners, and features a rocky slope with a gentle gradient.
The terrain is a rock slope covered extensively in blue and yellow Violescent Sea-whip, giving the site a distinctive character among the Medes Islands dive sites.
Marine life at Carall Bernat is varied and often influenced by the current: Groupers, Moray Eels, and Sea Bream are resident on the slope, while the stronger flows attract pelagic visitors including Eagle Rays, Barracudas, and Tuna.
Currents at this site can be quite strong and are the main hazard to be aware of; however, those same currents are what draw the larger, open-water species to the site. Despite this, the site is considered suitable for every diver.
