The Corsair is an airplane wreck off Oahu, Hawaii, and the only non-artificial wreck on the island. The small plane went down in 1946, when the pilot ditched it, and he survived. It sits remarkably intact at about 107 feet (33 m), with its bent propeller still standing tall. You can sit in the cockpit, though a huge moray sometimes guards it, so look first, and some of the instruments and glass are still there.
This is a deep dive, with a bottom time of about 15 minutes, which is plenty to cover the wreck. Hundreds of garden eels stand halfway out of the sand around it. Two large frogfish live here, one on the tail wing and the other sometimes on the sand nearby, and a large octopus and a very large moray are often in the wreck. Large stingrays often pass through.
Visibility is among the best on the island, averaging about 100 feet (30 m) and reaching close to 180 feet (55 m) at best. Watch for the sharp metal, barnacles and eels around the wreck.
