Drop Off East is a wall dive in the far southern marine reserve of Statia, about 20 minutes away by boat. The shallowest point is 20 metres (66ft) and the maximum depth is 30+ metres (100+ft).
The top of the reef is abundant with large groupers of various kinds, including the Nassau grouper, which is making a comeback around Statia. Beyond the edge of the reef the wall drops into deep blue water, where reef sharks and blacktip sharks frequently patrol.
