Esmeralda is a coral canyon dive site a few minutes from San Pedro on Ambergris Caye, Belize. Average depths run from 15 to 23 metres (50-75ft), and the site is suitable for all levels. Visibility is great.
The corals are abundant, and the canyon formations include a tunnel called Cypress Tunnel. Nurse sharks and Caribbean reef sharks are seen here, along with black groupers, yellowtail snappers, a resident moray and many tropical fish. Sea turtles appear very often.
