Fast Lane, known on the boat as Fast Lanes, is a reef dive off Kauai, Hawaii, reached by boat. It is basically two lava fingers that run parallel to each other, perpendicular to the shore. The lane between them gave the site its name, after two grey reef sharks came through it fast while some old-timers were fishing here.
The upper reef is about 45 ft (14 m), and the outside of the lane goes well over 90 ft (27 m). It makes a good deep dive for beginners and a great dive for advanced divers.
A very large black coral bush grows on the west finger, and the rare longnose hawkfish lives in it. Reef sharks sleep here alongside turtles and eels. Boarfish and conch are also seen, and white-tip reef sharks are a regular.
Current here is medium.
