French Cay Cut is a shallow site off Roatan that is used for snorkelling. The mooring sits in 6 metres (20 feet) of water, over a sandy basin where shallow corals lead towards the cut itself.
Beyond the basin the reef becomes a very shallow wall top, lined with mounds of star and elkhorn corals. Wave action can be felt on this shallow top, so it pays to keep an eye on the surf.
