Kingston, also known as the SS Kingston, is a 19th-century British steamship wreck lying close to Shag Rock in the Red Sea. The vessel foundered near this exposed, current-swept location, and its remains now rest on the bottom at a maximum depth of 50 metres.
The site is rated as technical in difficulty, reflecting both the depth of the wreck and the strong currents that regularly sweep the area. Visibility is generally great, and water temperature sits around 26.8°C, though divers should be prepared for the demanding conditions that come with this exposed, open-water environment.
Kingston is known for its pelagic life, with sharks a consistent presence at the site. Oceanic whitetip sharks are associated with the wreck, and hammerhead sharks appear seasonally, making timing relevant for divers specifically seeking them.
