About this site
Kubu is a reef in the Tulamben area of Bali that stretches out into the sea, with views of Mount Agung. Divers can go down to 45 m. At 20 m there is a large gorgonian fan, and barracuda, napoleon fish, bumphead parrotfish, Theira batfish and large table corals are likely sights. The reef is in excellent condition, with plenty of reef fish even in the shallows, so it is also a good snorkel site.
Kubu also has the Boga wreck, sunk in 2012. It is a Dutch-built cargo ship about 40 m long, lying on a sandy bottom between 15 and 40 m, about 50 m from the beach. It is in good condition, can be entered, and is a dive for Advanced divers. Soft corals have started to grow on it, and batfish, clownfish, barracuda and turtles can be seen.
Entry and exit are hard in strong winds.
