La Ventana, in Baja California, offers shallow diving straight from the shore. The terrain is made up of swim-throughs, big boulders and small caves, and Pacific reef fish are abundant.
Eagle rays, cow-nose rays, guitar sharks, southern Pacific stingrays and turtles are seen only occasionally, so any of them is a bonus. For close-up subjects there are several kinds of nudibranch and crab, and with some luck a Pacific seahorse can be found among them.
