Lac Bay is a shallow lagoon on Bonaire, lined with mangroves and seagrass beds. The protected water holds sand and weed rather than open reef, which makes it a calm place with no current to speak of.
The lagoon is an important nursery, giving young marine life shelter before it moves into deeper water. Sea turtles are found here, and the visibility is generally good.
