Le Scole is a rocky dive site located a few hundred metres south of Giglio Porto, off the island of Giglio, Italy. It consists of a group of rocks, the largest of which serves as the reference point for the dive. The site is closely associated with the Costa Concordia disaster: on 13 January 2012 the cruise ship struck the smaller boulder here, which became embedded in its hull, and a commemorative plaque has since been installed to honour the victims of that tragedy. A submerged statue of Our Lady Stella Maris sits midway along the descent.
The terrain is described as a landslide morphology of rocky formations decorated with numerous varieties of sponges and walls of red gorgonians. The dive follows a line from the largest islet down toward the smallest rock, reaching a maximum depth of 40 metres at the bottom.
Orientation at Le Scole is rated as challenging, and difficulty is classed as medium, making the site suited to intermediate divers. The recommended maximum depth is 40 metres.
