About this site
Lipah Bay is a shore dive and snorkel site on the remote east side of Bali, overlooking the Lombok Strait, with a wreck that rises to just a metre below the surface.
The wreck carries healthy soft corals, plate corals, tunicates and gorgonians. The rest of the dive is mostly sand with scattered corals and garden eels, running down to about 18 metres before sloping off into very deep water. Currents can be strong at times.
The bay is a nursery for baby white-tip sharks, which rest under table corals, and guides know where to find them without harming the coral. Turtles live here too, and new coral growth is being nurtured to restore the reef.
