Manta Ray Bay is a reef snorkel and dive site located among the northern bays of Hook Island in the Whitsundays, within the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. It is described as offering some of the best underwater scenery in the Whitsundays. Access is by boat, and the site is a day stop only, visited in light wind conditions. Some moorings are reserved for dinghies only, and anchoring is not permitted, so securing a mooring is essential before entering the water.
Conditions at Manta Ray Bay depend on wind: the site is accessible when winds are light, as it is exposed in stronger conditions. Water temperature runs around 23°C in winter and 27°C in summer across the Whitsundays region. Stinger suits are recommended during stinger season.
