Nabasan Reef is considered the second-best coral reef in Subic Bay, on the southwest part of Triboa Bay, and is often used as a training ground for less experienced divers. A drop-off wall starts at about 4 m and continues past 20 m, with the major part of the reef between 6 and 17 m. Shallow seagrass beds cover the top.
The reef is mostly hard coral, with frequent sea whips and sea anemones, and it holds a wide variety of reef fish. Bluespotted stingrays and pufferfish are common, and barracuda and turtles are also reported. Water is usually clear, which makes it a good site for underwater photography.
