Il Nasello is a wreck off Cala Luna on the Sardinian coast, reached in about 20 minutes by boat heading south from Cala Gonone. The ship was an old Italian merchant vessel, torpedoed in 1943 by the British submarine Safari, the same submarine that sank the K-12.
She lies on her left side. The submarine's gunfire tore the hull open, so you can see parts of the machinery, the propeller, the rudder and much of the bow and stern sections.
A thick, mixed growth of marine life covers the wreck. Large scorpionfish, groupers, slipper lobsters and big moray eels live in it. The dive takes about 45 minutes to a maximum of 32 metres and needs Advanced Open Water or equivalent.
