About this site
Puri Jati is a muck dive at Gilimanuk on Bali's west coast, next to Menjangan, and one of the best macro sites on Bali. The sandy bottom runs from 4 to 9 metres across broad areas, and the site goes to about 20 metres.
Weird critters turn up, and the Melibe nudibranch is what makes it famous. You may see the mimic octopus, frogfish, stargazers, seamoths, dragonets, ghost pipefish, seahorses, cuttlefish, squid, emperor shrimp, anemone shrimp, squat lobsters, box crabs and juvenile batfish.
There is no current to moderate current. After rain, avoid the river on the right side, and watch for fishing nets dragged across the area.
