Rapida sits off Santiago Island in the Galapagos archipelago, one of the volcanic islands on the western side of the group in Ecuadorian waters. It is a beginner dive site with a maximum depth of around 18 metres, generally reached by boat from liveaboards or day trips operating out of the central islands. Divers here have reported Galapagos sea lions and whitetip reef sharks, along with reef fish such as king angelfish, Mexican hogfish, blue-barred parrotfish, razor surgeonfish, and giant hawkfish. Panamic fanged blennies, pronghorn spiny lobsters, and panamic cushion stars have also been noted along the bottom.
