About this site
Secret Garden is a colourful sloping reef and shallow wall in Timor-Leste, reached from the beach at high tide. It is very sheltered from waves and current and usually has very good visibility. Hard and soft corals cover the reef down to 40 metres, and depths start at 5 metres. Open Water certification is enough, and snorkeling is possible too.
The reef holds reef fish, orangutan crabs and a big variety of nudibranchs. Whitetip reef sharks often pass by and, with luck, a dugong in the shallows. A lucky day might also bring a Napoleon wrasse. The site suits wide-angle photography.
