Shark Scramble is a dive site off Tateyama in Chiba, east of Tokyo, reached by a boat ride of only 5-10 minutes. It is rated intermediate and is known for huge schools of nurse sharks together with a variety of rays.
There are so many of these sharks because local people feed them, which is done to keep them out of the fishermen's nets. The sharks are quite harmless and docile, and it is an amazing view to see them together with the rays.
