The Spahi is a small passenger steamer lying at the bottom of the Fourmigue islet, in Le Lavandou Bay. The vessel was carrying around a hundred passengers when she went down on the islet of La Fourmigue on the night of 9 October 1887 during a storm. By daybreak, shore inhabitants spotted the ship in distress, and local fishermen from Le Lavandou brought the survivors ashore; twenty-two people were lost.
The wreck sits at depths between 12 and 25 metres (39–82 feet), making it one of the shallower wrecks in the area and accessible to divers certified to CMAS 1* level.
