The Elephant is a dive site at Wolf Island in the far north of the Galapagos archipelago, reached only by liveaboard after a long crossing from the central islands. Wolf's sites are generally known for pelagic action, including schooling hammerheads, Galapagos sharks, and the chance of whale sharks in warmer months, set against strong currents sweeping the rocky volcanic terrain, which makes conditions here better suited to experienced divers. At The Elephant specifically, divers have also reported a range of reef fish, including black-nosed butterflyfish, Cortez rainbow wrasse, fine-spotted moray, king angelfish, Mexican hogfish, Moorish idol, orangeside triggerfish, Pacific trumpetfish, Panamic fanged blenny, and razor surgeonfish. These smaller reef species give the site a different character alongside the bigger pelagic draws Wolf is known for.
