The Valley is a gentle coral slope at Layang Layang, running between 10 and 15 metres in depth, with large formations of hard corals. Overhangs and crevices give shelter to the reef life, and soft corals adorn the underside of the formations.
Groupers, sweetlips, large schools of surgeonfish and fusiliers roam the site, and triggerfish nest here. Schools of barracuda swim in the area, with the occasional reef shark cruising the width of the site, and turtles tend to settle in the shallows. Flatworms, nudibranchs and crustaceans crawl along the corals, and a golden anemone has been spotted among the anemone patches.
