About this site
Tobia Kebir is a reef dive near Safaga on Egypt's Red Sea coast, where the eastern wall of the main reef is crowded with fish and healthy coral. The site is graded advanced, with a depth of 18 metres.
Groupers, surgeonfish and unicornfish pass along the wall, and anemones are full of anemonefish. On the sandy bottom at the edge of the reef, bluespotted rays and flatfish such as the Moses sole can be found.
The pinnacles to the south have cracks and holes where glassfish hide from hungry lionfish and jacks, and triggerfish patrol over the bottom. In summer, dolphins sometimes pass by.
