Toyapakeh is a drift dive off the north coast of Nusa Penida, with coral formations from about 6 metres down to a drop-off past 30 metres. It is recommended for Open Water divers with over 20 dives, or Advanced divers who want to try drift diving.
Mola mola, marble rays and schooling barracuda are the big attractions, and mola mola are seen from July to mid-November. The coral reefs are dense and colourful, with macro life, turtles, moray eels and large schools of anthias, which makes it a favourite for wide-angle photography.
The current is strong. Just stay neutrally buoyant and let it carry you over the corals.
