About this site
Viking Cave is a reef dive site located at Koh Phi Phi Leh in the Phi Phi Islands group, roughly three hours from Chalong Pier, Phuket, Thailand. It sits within the same cluster of sites as Bida Nok, Bida Nai, Palong Wall, Turtle Rock, and Maya Bay, all set against the limestone island scenery of the area.
The reef reaches a maximum depth of 19 m with generally light current and good visibility, making it suitable for beginner divers. Water temperature ranges from 27–30°C, and the best conditions fall between October and May, with November through April considered prime season.
Marine life at Viking Cave includes hawksbill turtles, giant moray eels, lionfish, scorpionfish, pufferfish, batfish, pipefish, clownfish, fusiliers, nudibranchs, gobies, crabs, mantis shrimp, dancing shrimp, and shrimp among the reef structure.
