The Wolfe Islander II is a 164 ft (50 m) steel car ferry resting upright on the bottom of Lake Ontario near Wolfe Island, Kingston, Ontario. Built in Collingwood, Ontario and launched in 1946, she was originally named Ottawa Maybrook and intended as a gift to China, a plan abandoned when China became communist. Converted to a car ferry, she ran the Wolfe Island–Kingston route for many years before being deliberately scuttled on 21 September 1985 as an artificial dive site. The wreck measures 144 ft x 43 ft x 8 ft (44 m x 13 m x 2.4 m).
The wreck sits upright on a silt bottom with a shallowest point of 40 ft (12 m) and a maximum depth of 80 ft (24.4 m); a thermocline is present at depth. The site is accessed by boat from the Wolfe Island/Kingston area and is normally buoyed with a mooring for visiting divers, and the site is listed as open. There is no current and no recorded boat traffic at the site.
Visibility ranges from 15 to 50 ft (4.5 to 15 m), and the site is diveable from May through October. With no current and a stable upright wreck, the Wolfe Islander II is suitable for all certification levels, including beginners, and no specific hazards are noted for the site.
