Alexander Springs is a first-magnitude spring in Ocala National Forest at Altoona, Florida. It has a sandy bottom and a gentle slope, and is about 25 feet (7.6 metres) at its deepest, with water at 72 degrees Fahrenheit (22 Celsius) all year.
It is the only site in Florida's national forests where certified divers can scuba dive, which makes it a favourite for newly certified divers. Snorkelling is allowed all year, and vehicle reservations are needed on summer weekends and holidays.
The spring does not allow commercial use, so no courses, certification dives or guided tours can be run there. Certified divers are welcome to dive on their own.
