Avaavaroa Passage is a passage dive off Rarotonga with depths from 8 to 30 metres. The water in the passage is often fast moving, and sharks and turtles can be seen hanging in the current.
The passages on the south side of the island can be dangerous, and this one has to be treated with caution. It is rated advanced, and the dive is only made when conditions are suitable. The drop-off at the end of the passage is a separate site.
