Los Barrancos is a little-known shore dive on the south coast of Tenerife, near Santa Lucia, with an average depth of 10 m and a maximum of 17 m. That suits divers of all levels, especially those just starting out. Access is from the shore down a small concrete staircase, and the site is uncrowded and visited only by local divers.
The bottom is rocky with whitish shallows, and several small caves lie to the left without leaving the shore. After 10 m the bottom becomes less rugged and ends in sand.
The site is sheltered, with no currents, but it is only worth diving in good sea conditions. They are optimal only about 20 percent of the year, with light trade winds, southerly weather and calm seas.
