Batu Kelebit is a boat dive off Tulamben in Bali, a 10 to 15 minute trip by local boat and a short distance around from the Drop Off. It is named after two huge rocks lying just offshore.
The reef follows into deeper water, with dramatic steep ridges leading to a white sandy bottom at around 50 metres. Rocks and reefs are covered in healthy corals and sponges, with an abundance of tropical fish. A pinnacle drops to about 40 metres, followed by a gently sloping coral reef.
Cooler, plankton-rich water upwells here, which makes it a good place for larger pelagics. Look for barracuda, large tuna, sharks, rays and even Mola mola. The current is moderate on some dives and strong on others, and the dive is for skilled divers.
