Blue Coral is a reef at Tala Bay in Aqaba, Jordan, entered from the shore and named for its blue Acropora coral. The reef begins at 10 metres and extends out to 25 metres, with three massive coral shelves and a number of pinnacles poking out of a sandy bottom and seagrass bed. Visibility is excellent.
The sandy gullies between the three finger reefs mean most divers take one at a time. The layout is a simple slope, easy to navigate, and the site is particularly good at night.
In the shallows you see turtles, morays, reef fish, rays and plenty of invertebrates, especially nudibranchs, for which the site is well known. Deeper there are schools of larger fish, bigger sponges and more impressive corals. Shrimpfish, seahorses, pipefish and worms also live here, and the jetty has beautiful soft coral growing on it.
