Cemetery Beach Reef is a patch reef near the north end of Seven Mile Beach on Grand Cayman, off a waterfront cemetery. It is a shore entry, and it suits snorkelers as well as divers.
You walk in from a sand beach, shaded by sea grape trees, into clear turquoise water. The reef is about 100 yards (90 m) out, which is a bit of a swim, so be aware of the distance.
The reef. It is a long, narrow patch reef in less than 10 ft (3 m) of water, with a mix of coral formations. There are elkhorn corals on its crown. Tropical fish are the big attraction, and they come close to anyone who brings food.
Visibility is great and the current is light, though an occasional current can run, so take care. The maximum depth is about 4.5 m, which makes this a beginner-level site.
