Chakatuni is a reef dive in the open sea, with hard corals at depths of 12 to 18 metres. It is seen best at slack tide, and the reef attracts a wide range of marine life.
It is the sister reef to Ametatu, a shallower site at 6 to 12 metres made up of small coral bommies that host marine life of all sizes and colours.
