Charco Verde is a boat-access dive site on the west side of La Palma, located right next to the island's nature reserve. Its defining features are several impressive archways sitting at a moderate depth of 14–18 metres, making it a natural pairing as a second dive alongside nearby sites in the area.
The terrain is rocky, with the archways forming the centrepiece of the dive. The drop-off continues steeply beyond the arch zone, giving the site a wall character past the moderate depths. Maximum depth reaches 16 m, and the bottom is rock throughout.
Marine life at Charco Verde includes spiny lobsters and prawns sheltering in and around the archways, and large numbers of sea peacocks (salemas) congregating near the top of the structure. The site also holds octopus, cuttlefish, damselfish, wrasse, mullet, spinous spider crabs, scorpionfish, stingrays, barracudas, angel sharks, nudibranchs, and sea urchins.
Conditions are calm year-round with good visibility and light current; water temperature ranges from 18–22 °C. Sea urchins are the primary hazard to watch for. The site is rated beginner level, and because it can only be reached by boat, it is typically offered as part of a dedicated trip when sufficient divers are available.
