About this site
El Gilwa lies along the Red Sea coast in Egypt's Al Bahr al Ahmar governorate, the stretch of shoreline that runs south from Hurghada toward Marsa Alam and includes numerous fringing reefs accessed by boat from local dive centers. Divers have reported surgeonfish on the reef.
