About this site

Fish Rock is a rock and cave dive at South West Rocks in New South Wales. The site is known for its cave, where a swim-through can bring surge. It is dived to around 18 metres, with medium current, and the protected side depends on the swell, with the north-western side sheltered and either the western or eastern side sheltered depending on the swell direction.

Grey nurse sharks gather here in the largest numbers from May to September, and from October to December they rest in the shallow entrance. Wobbegong sharks, black cod, giant cuttlefish, blue groper, leopard sharks, black rays, catsharks, electric rays, turtles and moray eels have also been reported, and manta rays visit in summer.
