Flinders Reef is a protected marine sanctuary inside Moreton Bay Marine Park, off the Queensland coast near Moreton Island. It is named after Matthew Flinders, the explorer who led the first crew to circumnavigate Australia. Boats make the run from Mooloolaba in about 45 minutes.
Dives here run from 8 to 20 metres. The reef has walls, gutters, caves and pinnacles, and it is packed with coral, sponge and plant species. Divers see a lot of life here all year, and the water is consistently clean and clear with good visibility, though every dive differs with the conditions that day.
Trips depend on sea conditions and weather.
