Front Porch is a shore-entry snorkel site on the west coast of Bonaire, located to the left (south) of the public beach access just south of the Den Laman Condominiums, in front of the Chogogo resort. It sits within a string of named, contiguous snorkel areas that share a single public entry point and extends toward Eden Beach Resort.
The terrain is a sandy bottom with a maximum depth of 3 m (about 10 feet). Close to shore there is a long shelf of rock where fish congregate on top of and beneath the ledge; coral coverage is sparse throughout, though planted corals and floating coral-nursery stands are present near the drop-off farther along the site. Brain, star, fire, pillar, elkhorn, staghorn, starlet, and mustard hill corals have been recorded, along with scattered sponges.
Fish life is reasonably varied: hogfish, damselfish, chromis, parrotfish, wrasse, grunts, needlefish, keeltail needlefish, blue tang, lizardfish, goatfish, filefish, trumpetfish, bar jacks, palometa, mojarra, butterflyfish, cowfish, trunkfish, tarpon, flounder, moray eel, web burrfish, squirrelfish, and French angelfish have all been seen here. Large parrotfish appear in the shallows toward the Eden Beach stretch of the site.
Entry is from shore at the public access point; the site is reached by swimming left from that entry. Current is light and conditions are generally calm — on windy days when wave action makes other sites difficult, this stretch of coast often remains sheltered and snorkeable. Visibility is good. The shallow depth and easy conditions make it suitable for beginners and snorkelers.
