Gili Medas is a reef dive site off Kuta in Lombok, with depths of 12 to 35 metres. On the west and south side the reef drops away quickly to depth, and the rock formations there are covered in hard coral. The north and east side is much shallower and flattens into a soft coral garden.
Underwater canyons are lit by shimmering daylight, and these are home to bumphead parrotfish. Tunnels lead past trumpetfish and young reef sharks.
Eagle rays, blue spotted sting rays, a school of barracudas, fusilier sweetlips and groupers are also found around the site.
