Golden Passage is a drift dive in North Komodo, in the channel between Komodo Island and Gili Lawa Darat. It is named for the gold-bathed soft coral on the channel walls, and depths run from 5 to 30 m.
The current through the channel is strong, and you drift past dense macro life and pelagic action. Sharks, Napoleon wrasse and schooling fish are the main sightings. It is rated for advanced divers, and the best diving is on the incoming tide. The season runs roughly April to October, with water temperature of 25 to 30°C.
