About this site
Gorango is a dive site off Mantehage Island, within Bunaken National Marine Park in North Sulawesi, close to Manado. Mantehage sits in the channel area between Bunaken and the mainland, a stretch known generally for its mix of reef and mangrove-fringed coastline. Divers here have reported green and hawksbill sea turtles, common lionfish, spine-cheek clownfish, spotted boxfish, weedy pygmy seahorses, and reef fish such as Pacific orange-spine unicornfish, Pacific trumpetfish, and yellow-barred parrotfish. Boats to sites around this island typically depart from Manado or Bunaken.
