Hawksbill Highway sits near Sipadan Island off the eastern coast of Sabah, in Malaysian Borneo, in the Celebes Sea, rather than in Kalimantan Timur as listed, which is the Indonesian province sharing the same island. This stretch of coast is known for steep drop-offs and small islands ringed by reef, reached by boat from towns along Sabah's east coast. The site itself is rated a beginner dive over reef, and divers have reported frogfish and seahorses here.
