Karang Serang is a reef dive site in the waters of the Ujung Kulon / Java area, notable for the more challenging conditions that set it apart from sheltered nearby sites. The reef is exposed to thermoclines and currents, which makes it more suitable for experienced divers.
The conditions at Karang Serang attract larger pelagic species, so divers are advised to keep watch into the open blue water, where tuna and barracuda are regularly encountered alongside the currents.
The maximum depth reaches 12 m, with a reef bottom. Visibility is generally good, though thermoclines can affect water clarity and temperature at depth.
