Karumolun is a dive point off Karumolun Island in the Russell Islands. A ban on all fishing and collecting at the site, set for five years, has created a local marine protected area.
The point has fine soft coral, a big school of jacks, barracuda and plenty of sharks, and eagle rays are often seen here too. The macro side of the site is also rewarding, with disco clams (electric file shells), cuttlefish, crocodile fish and ghost pipefish among the animals found.
Confirmed by our research team, reported by independent divers, or observed nearby via iNaturalist — each entry is labelled with its source.
