Lionfish Hole is a dive on the northern side of Aliwal Shoal off Umkomaas, South Africa, with an average depth of 12 metres. It is a crater in the pinnacle that almost always has a resident lionfish, which gives the site its name.
The invertebrate life and small tropical fish are particularly beautiful, and coral covers the reef. Visibility is great with no current, and boats launch to the site from the Umkomaas river mouth.
