Mackerel Bay is a reef dive site located at East Hook Island in the Whitsundays, Australia. It offers relatively shallow diving characterised by small canyons, ledges, and swim-throughs, and is noted for having some of the best soft corals in the Whitsundays.
The marine life at Mackerel Bay includes giant clams, eagle rays, turtles, and an abundance of colourful reef fish.
The site is ideal when the wind is from the north, making wind direction the key factor in choosing when to dive here.
