Magic Rock is a dive site at Mataking Island, Sabah, Malaysia, built around an offshore pinnacle that attracts pelagic fish to open water. The site ranges from 5 metres at its shallowest to a maximum of 25 metres, with a rocky bottom structure.
Currents at Magic Rock run from moderate to strong, making the site best suited to experienced or advanced divers who are comfortable handling variable flow. The current is the defining challenge here, and when it runs hard the dive becomes a genuinely demanding one despite the relatively modest depth range.
The pinnacle draws pelagic fish, and the rocky terrain supports macro life including jawfish, nudibranchs, gobies, pipefish, sea hares, and seahorses.
