Punta Maravilla is a sheltered boat dive near Las Galletas in Tenerife, where a shallow volcanic reef meets pale sand. It is a beginner-friendly site open to all certification levels.
The dive runs from 5 to 16 m (16 to 52 ft). You descend over the rocky reef and follow the line where volcanic ground gives way to sand. Small ledges, cracks and a compact cave with two openings add variety to the route while the depth stays manageable.
Marine life here includes trumpetfish, moray eels and octopus around the rocks. Shrimp, small crabs, anemones and colourful nudibranchs reward divers who slow down and look closely. Rays can sometimes be found resting along the sandy edge where the reef begins to open out.
The site is generally well sheltered, with no current to a light current that can occasionally move across it. It is dived from a boat. The open areas and gentle depth make it suitable for first dives, snorkelling and early technical training.
